DESCRIPTION: APW - Waltham, Appleton Tracy & Co, Model 1862, 15J, 20S, coin silver OF original case marked with "R" in oval cameo, white enamel SS dial, KWKS, gilt mvt, s#100852. An excellent example, Waltham's total 20 size production is believed to be 2909 made. This watch is from a production run listed in Waltham records as having been finished between May and June of 1864.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates with some mild haze spotting and mild areas of clouding to gilt tone, missing a taper pin for visible dial foot near balance wheel; nearly flawless dial with two small flakes to lower-left perimeter of seconds-register; excellent hands; case shows little wear, a light to moderate patina, some fine scratches, rear with scattered nicks or small dings, mild shallow protruding dent to upper-left perimeter of rear, ding to lower-left perimeter of rear, two nicks to left side of bezel, bezel opens short of 90 degrees (to approximately 75 degrees); tight bow; good glass crystal.
